Yesterday afternoon, the Morristown FFA Chapter held its official groundbreaking ceremony for the school's new Ag Lab Expansion Project. Superintendent Dr. Hitchcock spoke briefly and extended his appreciation to the School Board for having the vision and seeing the need to expand the opportunities for our High School students, especially those interested in Agriculture.
The project, which is now underway, will transform the south end of the High School wing into an Ag Lab that will be buzzing with innovation, creativity, and exploration. This new space will be ideal for students to expand their skills and abilities to ensure they are prepared for whatever career pathway they may choose.
The footprint of the new structure is roughly 4,400-square-feet and includes both traditional classroom space as well as a separate lab space. It also includes a 600-square-foot greenhouse. SES is scheduled to take ownership of the new space in June of this year.
Morristown FFA Chapter Officers and Ag Instructor Chelsea Baker participated in turning a ceremonial shovel of dirt.
