Morristown Jr./Sr. High School

Morristown Jr./Sr. High School is the Home of the Yellow Jackets!  Morristown Jr./Sr. High School, along with its sister school Waldron Jr./Sr. High School, make up Shelby Eastern Schools.  The mission of Shelby Eastern Schools is to Shape, Empower, and Support the minds of tomorrow.  Our school is located 15 miles west of Rushville, and approximately 26 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Morristown Jr./Sr. High School is made up of 350 students in grades 6 through 12.  Our instructional staff includes 26 teachers, 4 full time teaching assistants, a guidance counselor, nurse, secretary, treasurer, and 2 administrators.

We offer a variety of course offerings, including Agriculture, Business and Technology, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, FACS, Advanced Placement, and vocational opportunities through Blue River Career Programs.  Students are encouraged to get involved in our programs offered after school.  Whether it be sports teams which include Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, Tennis, Cheerleading, Basketball, Gymnastics, Track, Golf, Baseball, and Softball; or groups and clubs such as BPA, FCA, FFA, NHS, Marching Band, Color and Winter Guard, Academic Teams, Show Choir, Drama, Spanish, Sunshine Society, and Student Council; we feel it is important for our students to be engaged both during and after school.

Over the past year, many upgrades have occurred with our facilities.  We have added 1:1 technology for all of our students, installed LCD projectors in all classrooms, added additional surveillance cameras, and exterior door card readers for increased security, and upgraded our tennis and track areas.  We are all very proud of our facilities and pride ourselves on providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students.  If you are interested in learning more about our school, please contact Principal Jeremy Powers at (765) 763-1221 or by email at jpowers@ses.k12.in.us.
